Laser Training: Pre-Licensing CourseDental practitioners can use lasers to augment or replace traditional instruments in a range of clinical procedures. While low power lasers used in diagnostic aids are not regulated under radiation safety legislation, higher power lasers (Class 4) used in restorative dentistry, bleaching and minor oral surgery are regulated in Qld and some other jurisdictions. In the coming years, uniform national regulatory legislation is expected to be introduced. The need for formal training in laser safety is a key element so that these devices are used both effectively and safely. 20/02/2620/02/26ADAQ CPD and Training Centre 28 Hamilton Place Bowen Hills, QLD 4006 AUSTRALIAEmeritus Professor Laurence Walsh AO$7906.25LaserRegister
Management of Gingival Recession - a hands-on course detailing the when and how!Our patients are becoming increasingly aware of the impact that their smile has on their confidence and quality of life. Their keen attention to detail has seen the goal post shift from, initially being solely concerned with teeth having perfect dimensions and shade, to now paying close attention to the immaculate framing of the gingival tissues surrounding these teeth. Dr Marina Kamel, a Brisbane-based specialist periodontist, will discuss the aetiology of gingival recession. She will discuss the rationale for managing recession, the options available to the patient, the anticipated outcomes, and help develop a decision-making tree on when to refer and what to expect for each recession type. This will be followed by a hands-on component teaching how to carry out recession coverage procedures using autogenous and xenografts on an animal model. The hands-on will cover flap raising, flap advancement, coverage of defect using autogenous and xenografts and suturing.  27/02/2627/02/26CPD & Training Centre 26-28 Hamilton Place Bowen Hills QLD 4006Dr Marina S Kamel$13607Register

Early Steps to Straight Smiles

Interceptive orthodontics, also known as early or two-phase orthodontic treatment, is a proactive and preventative approach to address potential orthodontic issues in children while their jaws and teeth are still developing. This approach aims to guide jaw growth, create space for permanent teeth, and correct bite problems early on, potentially reducing the need for more complex treatments later in life.
